Know Before You Go

We are looking forward to seeing you for our 2024 Annual Educational Conference & Exhibition (AEC). Please reference this information about both in-person and virtual conference attendance.

Virtual Platform/Mobile App Invitation Letters

Invitation letters to the conference platform/app will be automatically emailed to all registered attendees directly from the conference platform no later than Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

  • Note that invitations to the virtual platform/app will come from noreply@swapcard.com. Please be sure to check your junk/spam folder if you didn’t receive the email.
  • All registration invoices must be paid in full and your registration must show a $0 balance to receive an invitation.
  • If you are paid in full yet have not received an invitation, please email virtual@conferencedirect.com or stop by the Mobile App help desk at the conference.

Mobile App

Download the mobile app and be sure to use the email address you used to register for the conference.

Login to the platform and/or mobile app before the conference begins to:

  • View all educational sessions and build your own personalized agenda.
  • Send a private message to anyone registered.
  • Schedule private meetings with speakers, attendees, and sponsors.
  • Expand your profile with a biography, headshot, and unique tags.

If you have any questions or need help accessing the app, there will be a designated support person onsite Monday through Thursday near registration.

In-Person Attendees

Before You Go

A few reminders before you begin your travel:

  • Bring an ample supply of business cards to exchange information or set up a post-conference meeting.
  • Bring your reusable water bottle to reduce plastic waste.
  • Pack business casual or business professional attire for the conference and casual attire for evening social events.
  • There is still time to register for preconference offerings or sustainability tour.

COVID-19

Follow of common respiratory viruses, including COVID-19. Masks are not required but you are welcome to wear one. Please bring your own.

If you believe you might be sick, please do not attend the conference in person. Email us at events@neha.org to change your registration to attend virtually.

At the Conference in Pittsburgh

  • Collect your badge at the registration desk and wear it at all official conference events. You can stop by our information table to pick up conference ribbons to decorate your badge.
  • Consider sitting with attendees you don’t already know to network and make new professional connections.
  • Report your continuing education credits. Follow this CE Tracking Guide to track and get a report of the continuing education units you earn at the conference.
  • Visit our for tips on things to do, where to eat, historical information about Pittsburgh, and more.

First Time Ambassador Match

If this is your first NEHA AEC, welcome! We encourage you to consider being part of our AEC Ambassador program that connects new attendees with veteran AEC attendees who can show you the ropes and introduce you to fellow environmental health professionals.

Participants will be contacted by their matched ambassador to schedule a time to meet during the AEC. Contact Alfonso Valadez at avaladez@neha.org or 303-802-2126 to sign up.

Virtual Attendees

Make the most of your virtual conference:

  • There are more than 60 virtual sessions to choose from including all of the plenary sessions. Personalize your agenda by saving the sessions you want to attend on the conference platform.
  • Visit the Networking Lounge! Just because you are attending virtually doesn’t mean you can’t check in with old friends and make new connections.
  • Participate in the discussion! We will have moderators monitoring the chat and relaying your questions to the speaker in person.
  • Visit the sponsors virtual booth to learn how their products and services might be right for you!
  • Prepare ahead of time by making sure you have the following:
    • A device connected to the internet by ethernet or Wi-Fi.
    • A computer: tablets and mobile devices can be used but are not ideal.
    • A stable internet connection.
