Food Safety Preventative Controls Alliance (FSPCA) Course Suite

The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is the most comprehensive reform of our federal food safety laws in over 70 years. The intent of the law is to ensure the US food supply is safe by focusing on the prevention of contamination, rather than on response to contamination.

To achieve understanding of FSMA, IFPT (International Food Protection Training Institute) and FSPCA (Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance) formed an alliance to provide training courses that help the food industry professionals and regulators understand and comply with the 7 FSMA Rules. In addition, they worked diligently with FDA (Federal Food and Drug Association) to make sure that these courses met the satisfaction of FDA, therefore becoming the recognized standardized curriculum for training and education of FSMA rules.

NEHA is proud to provide Lead Trainers that can provide several training courses to industry and regulators.

Preventive Controls of Human Food

FSMA FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food Training is a course that helps food industry companies comply with FDA regulation, Current Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis, and Risk Based Preventive Controls for Human Food. The training covers topics such as developing a food safety plan, conducting hazard analyses, and monitoring preventive controls. Our Lead Instructors will prepare you to become Preventive Controls Qualified Individuals (PCQI) in compliance with the Human Food rule.

Foreign Supplier Verification Program

To achieve FSMA knowledge of the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), food importers are required to perform risk-based verification activities. These processes aim to verify that the imported products comply with the same level of health protection concerning food safety as stated by FDA regulatory requirements. This course is specifically designed for the foreign suppliers that manufacture, process, pack, or hold food intended for human or animal consumption in the U.S. The FSVP rule itself imposes requirements on importers, not foreign suppliers. Nevertheless, importers may make requests of foreign suppliers to assist in meeting the importers obligations. With the assistance of our Lead Trainers, this course will explain the requirements of the FSVP rule and assist attendees to become FSVP Qualified Individuals.

Intentional Adulteration Vulnerability Assessment

The purpose of the IA Rule is to protect food from intentional acts of adulteration where there is an intent to cause wide scale public health harm. The final rule establishes various food defense measures that an owner, operator, or agent in charge of a facility is required to implement to protect against the intentional adulteration of food. This training will provide stakeholders with information about IA Rule and specifically focus on the Vulnerability Assessment portion rule.
