About the Cover

Environmental health is historically an overlooked and underrated discipline. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the value of environmental health and environmental health professionals (EHPs). This issue鈥檚 cover article, 鈥淭he COVID-19 Pandemic and 乐播传媒: Lessons Learned,鈥� explores two themes regarding the skills and activities of EHPs around the world during the pandemic. These themes were the local nature of environmental health and the development of new roles and the transferability of skills. The article also provides lessons for the future. To protect public health in the future, public health policies must recognize the value of EHPs and the 鈥渧alue of local.鈥�
