Position Summary

A position is available for a dedicated food safety professional who is interested in a rewarding career in food safety and public health. This is a home-based employment opportunity with current openings in California (Los Angeles Metro), Texas (Dallas / Houston), NYC/NJ metro areas with regional coverage. The ability to work independently and within a vast array of retail food service/processing environments is a must.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Job duties will include HACCP based inspections of corporate retail food establishments, food safety consulting, and food safety education in local and national markets.
• Ability to travel required.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the FDA food code, food safety principles and HACCP principles.
• National/State REHS credential with 2 years of inspectional experience or CP-FS with 3 years inspectional experience and BA degree in a science with ability to obtain National or State REHS within 1 year.
• Experience in the areas of retail food safety or processing/manufacturing inspections required.
• Experience with HACCP plan development and special processes/variances a plus.
• Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• The ability to travel is required.
• Applicant must be U.S. citizen.
