Pandemic Task Force Best Practices Guide Available

Washington, D.C. – The ŔÖ˛Ą´«Ă˝ (NEHA) and the International Code Council’s has published the . The guide was created to provide recommendations about how best to prepare buildings and communities for disease-related threats.
The best practices are the result of researching the effects of COVID-19 on the built environment. The guide recommends guidelines, practices, and implementation of the 2024 International Codes® to help address challenges during future pandemics. It can also aid in constructing and maintaining safe, sustainable, and affordable occupancy of the built environment.
“Preparedness is key in any dangerous event, and health hazards like pandemics are no exception,” said Code Council Vice President of Technical Services Kevin McOsker who led the Pandemic Task Force. “It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce these new best practices and are looking forward to continuing the Code Council’s mission of keeping our communities and buildings safe.”
