Food Safety Manager Position Overview
The Food Safety Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Food Safety Program. Major duties include monitoring and oversight of retail food permits and inspections, program strategy and analytics, policy and planning, staff training, and serve as subject matter expert related to food safety laws, rules, and regulations. This person must be able to exercise strategic leadership over the food safety program and work within the guidelines established by department policy, applicable laws, and sound environmental health practice while exercising balanced judgement in evaluation of programs and recommending program direction.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in any field
Experience
- Eight (8) years of job related experience in Public Health
- Two (2) years in program leadership or supervision
Licenses/Certifications Required
- National or Texas Registration as a Sanitarian is required. Must upload a copy of Texas RS or NEHA REHS Certification.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
