Consider MAHC Change Requests in MAHC Voting

March 6, 2024

Environmental Public Health Colleagues:

Recreational water assessments and inspections represent an important part of many of our scopes of work. You know because you engage with the MAHC. In the Change Request Guide you will find the general recommendations of the environmental public health community on how to vote in the current round of updates for the MAHC.

What’s in the document?

The Change Request Guide includes change requests (CRs) submitted for the 5th edition of the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) and is a result of discussions during the public health caucus that took place at the Vote on the Code conference, hosted by the Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC) in February 2024. While all CRs were not discussed during the caucus, the document includes the voting decision of the CRs that were discussed, based on feedback from participating caucus members. Consider using this document when casting your votes.

Voting is now open for the 5th edition of the Model Aquatic Health Code (as of March 1) and will close on Saturday, March 30, 2024. To vote, visit .

Thank you for preserving the health, safety, and financial security of people everywhere.
