Day Trip From Fes To Volubilis & Meknes

Voulubilis is the very important Roman Empire’s ruins in Morocco. This hisitorical site is one hour away, driving, from Fez. Before the Roman Empire, Volubilis was the capital of Mauretania’s kingdom. The tour begins with having breakfast before you take a guided visis to this very interesting monument. This site has two sections. The public part and the private part.

The guide will provide with many other interesting facts about this city explaing the story behind every single detail (mosaics, arches, temples, gates… ).

The next destination we will trave to is Meknes. In this city, we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Meknes is one of the prominent imperial cities in Morocco. It used to the capital of Morocco in the period (17th-century) of moulay Ismail. In Meknes, you will visit some interesting historical sites such as the great walls that were built to defend the city, Bab eL Mansour’s gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the old town of Meknes (Medina).

After a full journey, we will go back to Fez from where we begun.
